CII Design Excellence Award 2013

We collaborated with Bluestar, a leading commercial air-conditioning provider in India, to redesign and reinvent an entirely new interface for managing air conditioners in a large facility. This central airconditioning software product’s user interface received a CII Design Excellence award in the UX category in 2013.

The product is a PC based dedicated software to centrally control individual air conditioners installed in a building/ facility. In a centrally air-conditioned building controlling each AC individually and ensuring switch on/ off, setting temperatures, varying them, changing modes and managing efficiency is a challenging task.

Use of the newly designed control and interface makes this process easy and engaging for the user. Besides increasing overall efficiency it also provides a never-before intuitive control interface for the users. Use of this product for scheduling of AC parameters round the year results in significant energy and cost saving. The product has been developed by Blue Star Ltd. Ticket Design was instrumental in design of the user interface for the product.

The central quest in this project was asking ourselves how we could make usage of the software more engaging, intuitive and as natural as possible. The team also focussed on creating an interface that was visually enriching and functionally better.
